6/1/11 Tarpon were scarce today Shark's were taking the bait giving us action all morning long.

5/23/11 An early start and fresh bait had Forrest fighting Sharks and Mackerel before the heat of the day.

5/21/11 The middle harbor is full of white bait being chased by Sail Cats, Trout, Mackerel, Cobia, Tarpon and Shark.

5/20/11 Hardened Bass fishermen, Steve and Jeremy Craft enjoyed Back Bay fishing in the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. Both anglers released several Snook and Reds including this 7+lb 26¾" Red.

5/19/11: Canadians Brian and Diana made a return visit with Chris and Lisa. A failed pump and loss of bait  did not stop us from catching a multitude of fish. A cool dip, Manatee and nesting Great Herons helped add to the memories of the trip.

Expectant Diana could not be convinced to hold this shark for picture.

5/13/11: (1 hour trip) Released a nice size Lemon Shark caught with Ladyfish & Jig.

5/10/11: Joe and Mike had to contend with a neap tide and mid 90's to rustle up some small Snook,  a Jack and some nice trout and Mackerel. Mike got into a monster Snook that finally got away under the boat.

5/6/2011: Spring break is over and I took some time off to catch up on some "honey do's" and quality time with Debbie. This past season has been especially gratifying to me given the chance to fish with many repeat customers and friends plus the opportunity to meet new clients and share with them the beauty and bounty of Charlotte Harbor and the Aquatic Preserve. I look forward to fishing with you all again in the near future.

4/21/2011: Here are some pictures of my husband Jim and my grandson Ryan they went out with you on Thursday April 21st. and had a great time. Ryan was visiting us from West Virginia for spring break and this was his first fishing trip. Thank you so much Evelyn.

04/24/2011: Another good day with Ron and Alec. Manatee kept us company while we caught a limit on trout, and released Mackerel and snook.

04/10/2011: Captain Robin I just wanted to thank you for an amazing afternoon! I never expected to catch so many fish and so many different kinds of fish. Having lived here over 10 years I thought I had seen everything in our harbor but you showed me how wrong I was (in a great way). Thanks again, Laurie

bulletFootnote: Ethan and Carlo out fished the ladies today catching Trout, Mackerel, Flounder, and a Tern.  Carlo fought a nice Bonnet Shark to the side of the boat and helped unhook and free a Tern.

03/30/2011: Rain and wind interrupted some charters this week. It looks like April will start out with some great weather. White bait is now starting to show up. The Spanish Mackerel run continues. Slot size (and bigger) Redfish and Cobia are moving up the Harbor while Snook are moving out of the river systems.

03/09/2011: Sea Trout have scattered onto the flats but are still showing up from time to time in the creeks.  White bait arrived in the south end of the harbor and slot reds are following.  For the past few weeks Spanish Mackerel have been tearing up tackle on the Charlotte Harbor Reef, the East Wall and Cape Haze Bar.  The warmer water temperatures fired up the catch and release snook bite. Reports are also now coming in on Pompano and Cobia outside the West Wall.  Time To Go Fishing.

03/08/2011: Today Tom L. went after the Spanish Mackerel with a fly rod and had to hang on for the ride that came with each bite/mac-attack.

02/15/2011: Today the low tide limited our places to fish on the flats. After releasing numerous trout and Redfish we moved out to the Charlotte Harbor Reef where Bill, John and Adam experienced Mackerel and Sheepshead fishing on light tackle. Bill Derek started it off with a nice 3½ lb Sheepshead which was followed in short or by John Hopkins landing a 5lb whopper. Adam Dunnom lost a big fish which came back around and Adam  boated his huge 6 pounder.  In between the Sheepshead excitement the guys also boated 5 reel screaming Mackerel.  Checkout Adam's testimonial on www.mybuckstory.com.

02/05/2011: Blustery winds kept us from going into Charlotte Harbor today. Sheltered in the canal systems, Carlo and Al released short reds before ended up with a nice 26" Redfish, Sheepshead and Mangrove Snappers.

01/29/2007: Carlo and Joe fishing with their moms scored big time with the trout today. The boys out fished the moms with the help of some "new math". All together we caught over 40 trout.

01/28/2011: Carol took home a limit of Trout and released many more.

01/15/2011: Today we got off to a foggy start. Roger & Warren got to experience the Key Point Sand Bar at low tide. In a mixed bag we caught Redfish, Seatrout and Flounder.

01/07/2011: Phil, Debbie, Phil jr. and Alex,  fished the afternoon incoming tide and the Redfish and Seatrout bite was strong.

01/02/2011: Carlo used his Christmas Gift certificate from Santa and was kept busy with friends catching numerous Redfish and Seatrout.

12/29/2010: Rods were bent all day as Walter and Laurie Hestroffer with friend Robert Barkley had a workout taking home 3 slot Redfish and 6 Sheepshead. Several trout, flounder and more than 40 other Redfish were also caught and released back into Charlotte Harbor.

12/26/2010: Charlotte Harbor fishing with Jeff Mackewich was fantastic on Christmas day. We were catching (and releasing) reds on every cast using (white, yellow and red) jigs with shrimp. When the shrimp ran out we switched to D.O.A’s and caught (and released) over 20 slot trout before the wind started to pickup and we headed for the dock. Merry Christmas Jeff!

2010 10 10: Hi there.  Thank you for all your patience and kindness Sunday.  Mason had a blast and insists that we get some of the weighted hooks they caught all the trout on!   Thanks again, Julie C.

10/20: Just wanted to say “Thank you” for the fishing trip last weekend.  My dad and I both had a great time.  I appreciate you spending all day with us on the water…   Kenneth H.
